Get a sales super success plan

3 AI prompts for self-improvement pt.3

Hi there,

In the final installment of our 3-part series on AI for self-improvement, we’ll discuss how to use AI to generate a step-by-step plan for sales success.

As always, feel free to jump to the part you care about:

This is the last part of our AI for self-improvement series.

In part 1, we got rid of self-limiting beliefs.

Our negative beliefs about ourselves and the world holding us back from achieving our goals.

In part 2, we learned about habits.

What they are, and how we can create or destroy them.

These 2 abilities alone will yield massive results if you put them into practice.

With the right mindset and the right habits, you become failure-proof.

This doesn’t mean there won’t be ups and downs.

But it means you’ll have the capabilites and perseverance to follow through and figure sh*t out.

So, if you have the right mindset and the right actions, what’s missing?

What’s keeping you from success?

Simply, the “how”.

The last domino standing between you and your dreams is how you get from where you are to where you want to be.

It’s the combination of daily, weekly, and monthly actions you need to take, plus milestones and metrics you need to track, to achieve the success you desire.

To become the person you want to be.

This is what we’ll call our success plan.

See, having the right mindset and the healthiest habits doesn’t mean anything if you have a bad plan.

It’s like trying to hit a bullseye while blindfolded.

You might be aiming in the wrong direction.

You need to figure out where your going and make a detailed plan on how to get there.

However, there is a downside.

You see, there’s a saying:

“Man makes plans and god laughs.

Even if you have a plan, not everything will go according to it.

The roadblocks and challenges you’ll hit will force you to course correct.

The truth is there is no straightforward path to sales success.

It’ll be different for everybody.

So how do we protect against this?

The best way is to find the right mentors, coaches, and managers.

Because all of these people, who’ve ideally been where you are and have gotten to where you want to be, can guide you.

They can serve as your map to sales success.

Where most salespeople go wrong is they never seek out these people.

Or the conform themselves to having just one.

The reality is you need all three, a mentor, a coach, and a great manager to hit sales super success.

A mentor will guide you through different aspects of your job and outside of it.

He cares and is invested in your success.

A coach will sit with you and analyze the fine details of your craft.

He has helped 100’s of others and knows how to guide you in the right direction.

Lastly, a great manager knows the X’s and O’s of your industry and gives you real-time feedback on where you need to improve.

If you had all three as I describe here, you could pull their wisdom together and figure out a step-by-step action plan to achieve your sales goals.

Wouldn’t that be amazing?

If you just had a map you could follow that leads directly to sales gold.

Now, I recognize this is a dream scenario.

Most of the time, this will not be the case.

You might have difficulty finding a mentor.

Or you might be stuck with a manager that is more concerned about his numbers than anything else.

Or you might get a coach that’s all talk and has no knowledge to back things up.

And by the time you notice.

It’s too late.

But still, could I go back in time, I would do everything possible to put this together.

And I would encourage anybody to do the same.

With that said, what do you do while you get there?

What do you do if you don’t have access to a mentor, a coach, and a great manager?

Does that mean that you’re screwed?

Well, if I was writing this a year ago, the answer would be yes.

But AI has made it so now we all have a mentor, a coach, and a great manager in our pocket.

Here’s how we can use AI to generate a step-by-step plan for sales success:

Here, we’ll tell ChatGPT to act like an older, wiser, and more successful version of ourselves.

This creates an amazing conversation and helps you start visualizing yourself as a success.

ChatGPT will have a conversation with us to find out areas where we need to improve and formulate an action plan on how to do it.

Complete with a daily schedule we can follow to achieve our goals and strategies you might’ve not thought about.

PROMPT
"Act as my future self five years from now—a top-performing sales professional who consistently exceeds quotas, builds strong client relationships, leads a high-performing team, and is recognized as an industry leader. I’m also financially stable, well-networked, and have built a solid personal brand. From that vantage point: 1. Ask me a single, open-ended question at a time about the kind of person, professional, and leader I want to become in sales. Focus each question on one aspect of my motivations, values, personal brand, strengths, weaknesses, relationship-building strategies, career development plans, daily habits, or long-term vision. 2. Provide follow-up questions based on my responses to clarify what truly matters to me. 3. Once we’ve thoroughly explored these areas through our interactive Q&A, give me a tailored roadmap with: - Actionable steps to enhance my sales methods, communication skills, and negotiation tactics - Suggestions for developing leadership qualities (coaching, mentoring, team building) - Networking strategies to expand my influence within and beyond my industry - Goal-setting frameworks to track progress and stay motivated - Well-being and resilience practices to sustain high performance over the long term 4. At the end of our conversation, provide a detailed 4-week step-by-step action plan that breaks down each day (Monday to Sunday) with specific, realistic targets for core sales activities such as prospecting, researching leads, following up, pipeline management, and closing. - Incorporate actual performance metrics (quota numbers, closing percentages, etc.)—and if needed, ask me for those details so we can tailor the plan accurately. - Include normal sales duties in my weekly schedule, with concrete daily goals (e.g., number of calls, emails, or discovery sessions). - Provide a weekly review question or short questionnaire to reflect on my progress, which I will fill out and share every week or two. Use these responses to adjust our strategy as we move forward. 5. Conclude by summarizing a concise action-plan checklist and any key resources or tools you, as my future self, found valuable on your journey to becoming a top sales professional."

Copy and paste this prompt to ChatGPT, then have an honest conversation with it.

I highlight the honesty part because it might ask some tough questions.

And remember, if you get stuck, you can always ask for help.

Then, be sure to save this conversation or keep it handy.

Every week or 2, you’ll be filling out a couple of questions ChatGPT will give you.

Mostly about your performance for the week

Feed your answers back to ChatGPT, and let it adjust your plans or guide you in removing any resistance.

Coaches typically charge upward of $10k a year for this type of service.

And you just got it for free.

With this, we wrap up our 3-part series on AI for self-improvement.

You know have all you need to succeed.

A strong mindset, healthy habits, and a step-by-step action plan.

It’s up to you to decide if you’ll use it.

Logging off,
