Hi There,

In today’s issue of the automated salesman, you’ll learn 3 AI tools you can use to create presentations in minutes.

As always feel free to go directly to the part you care about:

One of the most frustrating and time-consuming parts of any sales role is being a part-time designer.

You probably know the feeling.

You’re at a start-up and need to create your own sales materials.

You’re giving a demo for an important deal and need creative slides.

A lead responded with “send me some info” and you know your normal pitch deck will get you nowhere.

So you sit down and open up Google Slides.

You have the greatest idea of what the presentation is going to look like.

You know what you want to say and what you want to convey.

But after an hour goes by, and all you want to do is smash your computer and turn it into pieces.

Nothing looks as you wanted. Nothing works as you wanted.

It looks like it was made by a 10-year-old.

What a huge waste of time!

After all, you signed up to sell.

Not to be a graphic designer.

So what do you do?

Do you give up?

Do you forge ahead with a design that will make you look like an amateur?

Or do you try to find someone else to do it?

I understand this problem, because I’ve been there myself.

But I knew there must be a better.

So I tried 10+ AI slide solutions, so you don’t have to.

Some were disappointing. I’m looking at you Google.

But some were amazing.

To rank them I ran 3 tests.

For the first one, I had Gemini write me a fictional case study of a sales software company advertising on this newsletter.

I then fed that Google doc to the AI slide generator with little to no prompting to see what it came up with.

For the second test I ran the same prompt on all of them: “A sales deck for my newsletter advertisement opportunities.”

And for the third test, I tried to create a new slide on their software to see how easy it was.

Here are the apps that ranked in my top 3:

I. Gamma AI

Price: Free - Limited Credits

If you’re looking for one recommendation and not interested in trying anything else, I would suggest you go straight to gamma.app

By far and away the best solution.

They provide the most options on what inputs you can use and what outputs you can get.

Here’s what you can feed Gamma:

  1. Notes

  2. Google Slides

  3. Google Docs

  4. Webpages

  5. Blog Post or Articles

  6. PDFs

  7. Prompts

And here’s what you can get:

  1. Slides

  2. Website

  3. Document

  4. Social Post

So while there are many workflows you can do with Gamma, like turning meeting notes into an onboarding document.

Or deal notes into a custom website.

We are focusing on slide creation.

Once you select your input, you’ll be able to give the AI a prompt, select your desired text length, and choose from many great looking templates.

Once Gamma starts creating the slides you’ll be able to see how it makes them in real time.

And once it’s done, you can edit your slides in a user-friendly environment.

Their free tier is very generous and you’ll be able to create many designs with it.

Cons:

Gamma slides are meant to be shown and shared through Gamma. When you try to move them to other platforms like Google Slides, their designs don’t always translate well.

II. Plus AI

Price: Free 14-Day Trial then $15-$25/month

If you’re used to working with Google Slides and are looking for something like a co-pilot, then Plus AI is for you.

They are an extension that once downloaded, you can use in Google Slides.

Due to it being an extension, you don’t have to learn any new software. One of the biggest benefits of using this tool.

Similar to Gamma, you can feed Plus AI a lot of documents like:

  1. PDFs

  2. PPT

  3. CSVs

  4. XLSX

  5. HTML

  6. And even EPUB

You can also give it a prompt and select from beautiful templates.

The designs of Plus AI were as beautiful as Gamma’s, and which one is more beautiful is a matter of personal preference.

Other features like the ability to transform a plain text slide into a pleasing format, and the ability to add live screenshots of metrics, made using this tool a really cool experience.

Unlike Gamma, Plus AI created slides do have the benefit of translating well to other tools like Microsoft PowerPoint.

Cons:

Plus AI was one of the most buggy tools. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn’t. It’s also the slowest out of all of the options.

You need to sign up with a credit card for their free trial.

III. Presentations AI & Decktopus

Price: Presentations AI - Free Trial then $148/yr, Decktopus - $25/month

At number three I have a tie between Presentations AI and Decktopus.

Consider these honorable mentions.

Presentations AI:

Presentations AI ranked #3 due to its intelligence.

Gamma, Plus AI, and even Decktopus did a better job at recognizing the content and purpose of the information to better format the slides.

Presentations AI didn’t do as well. Not that it did bad.

Just not as good as the other options.

So why is it still on the list? Well, Presentations AI had the best graphics.

If you’re willing and able to put more work into your slides, you’ll end up with the best-looking deck using this tool.

However, it does come with a limited free trial and after that they don’t offer monthly options.

Turning it into one of the most costly options out of all the ones I tried at $148.50/year.

Decktopus:

Decktopus is another solid option with some cool features like the ability to generate a Q&A so you won’t be stomped with questions from your audience.

I was impressed by the AI’s intelligence and the slides it created, with just a few minor adjustments needed.

Overall Decktopus is close to Gamma and Plus AI.

So why is it sitting here?

It doesn’t have a free trial, you have to sign up for their $25/month tier to start using it.

Warnings:

As always AI is still AI. The design is not going to be perfect with just one sentence.

This workflow is meant to save you the time of having to think and start from scratch.

Hopefully one day AI will be able to create the perfect slides that live inside your head.

But for now you can start from a great baseline.

What will be the next presentation you create?
